This illustration is based on a paddleboarding adventure with my niece at Hungry Mother Lake in Hungry Mother State Park, Marion, Virginia. This illustration was created for The Art League of Marion on the occasion of the 43rd Annual Hungry Mother Festival in 2017. The paintbrushes substituted for paddles are a nod to the local and regional artisans featured at the annual arts and crafts festival. The color scheme captures the lightheartedness of the event, which features live music, festival food, and plenty of outdoor family fun.
