Candace Butler is a published writer, artist, and graphic designer residing in her hometown of Sugar Grove, Virginia. Butler holds an MFA in Creative Writing with a mixed concentration in poetry and creative nonfiction from Antioch University of Los Angeles, Culver City, California. Her undergraduate degrees include a double-major with a minor: BA in English Literature and Creative Writing, BFA in Art with a graphic design concentration, and a mathematics minor. Butler teaches Writing and Design at Emory & Henry College, Emory, Virginia. She is Editor of Wild Leek Press, an independent literary press with a focus on letterpress printing, design, and book arts. Creative writing, poetry, typography, book arts, letterpress, and print design are her primary research and teaching interests. Butler’s poetry appears in two chapbooks, Nothing Is So Lovely (Finishing Line Press 2016) and Royal Crown (Wild Leek Press 2014), and is forthcoming in print and online in numerous journals and anthologies.
